The guidelines for Unestablished: "There is no limit in size of work. If you are submitting a performance art proposal, please give a thorough description of what your plans are, how much time is needed and what theme you are trying to convey. Attach a rough sketch of your intended piece. No shock art, controversial, or self-harming performances will be accepted. ... Please send links to your online portfolios, and videos. If you don't have an online portfolio include photo attachments of your work. Give a brief explanation to the theme you are portraying and the dimensions needed to set up your piece. Include name, age and phone number."
There is no fee to submit or showcase their work (and no commission taken on works sold). Submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org and selected artists will be notified Nov. 22.
The showcase, which will include performances by bands and DJs, will run 8 p.m. to midnight Dec. 6 at 7200 N.W.35th Ave. in Hialeah, and donations will be accepted from the audience from the audience who will vote for the artist who will receive the collected amount to fund their next project. Rossetti Fine Art Gallery is accepting submissions (paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, photography, video, etc.) for Basel Broward 2013, a show that runs Dec. 12 through Jan. 4 (with reception held 7-10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13). Artists are encouraged to "think outside the box" and "push the envelope" for this open media/open theme exhibition for 2D and 3D works.
There will be cash awards ($200 for best of show, $150 for second place, $100 for third and two $25 merit awards) issued as part of the exhibition, and photographer and lecturer Constatine Manos and architect and artist Michael Prodanou, will serve as the juror and judge.
Requirements according to the call for entries: "Maximum size 48 x 48 inches or less than 96 overall inches for 2D. Sculpture maximum size 24W x 60H inches or (call to see if the gallery can accomodate the work). Wires are necessary for hanging! Please attach name, title and contact information and phone number to back of each work accepted."
Entry Fee is $20 for one entry and $10 for each additional and entries, including jpegs, contact info, titles and medium, must be submitted online (Tom@rossettifineart.com) by the Dec. 6 deadline and accepted artists will be notified by midnight Dec. 8 and must deliver their works 2-6 p.m Dec. 10 and pick them up between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5. Entry fee must be sent by check postmarked by Dec. 5 to Rossetti Fine Art, 2176 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL 33305. Gallery phone number is 954-247-9580. As per the gallery: "Rossetti Fine Art is a retail gallery and work will be consigned in on a 50/50 commission. Rossetti Fine Art is not responsible for any loss or damage [during] artwork competition."
Submissions are being accepted from South Florida painters, photographers, filmmakers, sculptors, animators, writers, musicians, muralists, performance and new media artists, for Miami’s Independent Thinkers ART BASEL 2013 exhibition, billed as "a collaborative multimedia exhibition showcasing of Miami’s premiere, emerging and young artists."
The show, which this year will be held at SCOPE Miami Beach (1000 Ocean Drive Miami Beach, FL 33139), will run from Dec. 2-8 during Art Basel. Deadline for entries is midnight Nov. 24 and accepted artists will be contacted no later than Nov. 28. Submission fee is $45 for four images and $5 for each additional, payable through PayPal (with the option to use a credit or debit card). A 50 percent commission will be taken on all sales that take place during the exhibition, and fair staff will handle all sales. Find the full guidelines here.
