Piering is kicking off the series with some of her favorites.  "I admire each, in their own right, for their influence on art, music and culture," the artist notes.

Each work in Twelve by 12 will be priced at $200 each, with $150 going directly to the artist and $50 to a participating arts organization of the artist's choice. Participating arts organizations including ArtsUnited and Artists With Autism will be represented at the event, and each which will present its member benefits, exhibition schedules and artist opportunities in ArtServe's auditorium.

Anyone who buys a work can take it home after the reception, so the opening is the only time you will be able to see the show in its entirety.

The exhibition opens 6-8 p.m. Feb. 7 with munchies, drinks, music from DJ Brendan Eldom and food trucks (On the Slide and Frankie Dogs Gourmet Veggie Dogs). Whatever remains of the show (after all the $200 purchases) will run through March 1 at ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Admission is free. Call 954-462-8190 or visit ArtServe.org.
