Works on Paper is an open-call event in which artists will show their work and mingle with Artist as Entrepreneur Institute grads, art professionals and patrons.

The show, which will be held the week before the Doing Business As ... Artist Entrepreneurs 2013 exhibition, was inspired by Drawn In, a Girls Club exhibition held during Fort Lauderdale's Art Fallout in Fort Lauderdale. Just as with that show, members of the art community will be invited to post informal commentary about the works during the reception.

The exhibition, curated by artists Vee Corallo and Ry Nielsen, runs 5 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 9.

Alexis Caputo will perform at DBA 2013 which opens Jan. 16.
Clay Art South Florida's Winter Splinter Exhibition, featuring ceramic works by artists who use clay as their medium, will open along with Works on Paper. The exhibition will include ceramic works by Florida artists John Foster, Catalina Aguirre Hoffman, Jan Kolenda, Diane Lublinski, Ry Nielsen, Susan Maguire, Klawdia Proia, Stephanie Hubbard and Susan Somerstein.

DBA 2013 Art Exhibition, coordinated by DBA Artist as Entrepreneur Institute grad Ry Nielsen, with support from Frank Crowley and JoAnn Nava, will feature works by painters Jim Bobick and Renee Falsetto, photographer Candy Childrey and R. Lewis Hooten, ceramicist Klawdia Proia, poet Mary Rose Harding, songwriter Tate Earle and performer Alexis Caputo, who will present poetry and spoken word excerpts from her multidisciplinary project Afro Diaries.

The exhibition will open to the public on Jan. 16 and an opening reception will be held 5-7:30 p.m. Jan. 23. The show will remain on exhibit through the closing reception, which will be held 5-7:30 p.m. Feb. 27.
