Renda Writer and Billy Hitz or Renda Hitz Hearts
Renda Hitz Hearts, a heart-art collaboration between poet Renda Writer and Billy Hitz began, was established a year ago as a way to make the two friends lives more manageable.

As they posted on the project's Facebook page last year, “Renda was living out of his car and crashing on friends' couches and called up Billy to see if he could crash for the night. Billy was living in a foreclosed house with no air conditioning, getting ready to declare bankruptcy, applying for food stamps, and looking for a job.”

Over baked ziti thet talked about what to o with wall of Hitz's things once the house went up for auction. His belongings included several thousand feet of rolled carpet and one heart-shaped rug made by Hitz. Writer suggested they make more heart rugs as a way to clear out the garage and “spread the love and make some money.”

A year later they're still at it, and tonight will be at NOBE Art Walk spreading their carpet love. Here's a video of Writer and Hitz telling the story behind their art.
