Red Eye, ArtServe's big summer show now in its seventh year, features an 86-artist roster that includes Beth Amato, Laura Atria, Sharon Blondet, Virginia Fifield, Frank Crowley, Liora Davis, Detourbutterfly, R. Lewis Hooten, Larry Joe Miller, Alfred Phillips, Lori Pratico and Judy Polstra.
The show runs July 5 through July 27, but the big opening is 6-10 p.m. July 14 and will include dance, music, installations, a show of avant garde fashions designed by Florida International University students, and Renda Writer's open mic. Outside, there will also be a Fiat 500 (from Rick Case) painted by local graffiti artist Abstrk, a Cans to Canvas live graffiti event and artists Ruben Ubiera, Abstrk, Miss Marvel, Remote, Caron Bowman and Mad Neon painting live.
Throughout the opening, which will also include food trucks, there will be also be a Red Shorts Film Festival, music performances by The Hate Ash Buried, Boxwood, Astari Nite, Speaking Volumes and Twilight Notes. Tickets for the opening are $7 in advance, $10 at door (includes a drink at the afterparty at Vibe), $50 for VIP which includes access to cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and parking accommodations.
