Artist opportunities

The Art and Culture Center has paid and volunteer positions available during its Nathan Sawaya: The Art of the Brick (opens in June)
The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood seeks responsible and motivated people for paid and volunteer positions during its summer exhibition Nathan Sawaya: The Art of the Brick. The museum seeks "qualified applicants to fill two temporary, part-time summer job openings for Gallery Supervisor/Tour Guide. The positions pay $9 an hour and will be in effect for 10 weeks during the summer exhibition Nathan Sawaya: The Art of the Brick." For more info, visit ArtAndCultureCenter.org/jobs. Info on applying for The Everglades National Park Artist in Residence in Everglades (AIRIE) Program can be found at Nps.gov/ever/supportyourpark/everartistinresidence.htm. This program offers artists a chance to live and work in the park for up to a month to create works that will, according to program officials, contribute to the public understanding and appreciation of Everglades National Park" and "characterize the Everglades for present and future generations, giving park visitors and the general public an opportunity to see our heritage through the eyes, and ears of the contributing artists."

The Activist/ArtistA Gallery in Boynton Beach seeks "work that explores traditional symbolism in contemporary art" for a showcase titled Symbolism: Pushing Boundaries. According to the gallery, "Images on paper, canvas, photographic paper will be considered traditional and will not be considered. Deadline is June 1 and the gallery's suggested (but not mandatory) submission fee is $10, which they say will help with expenses but not influence their decision.
