Artists in Action! is a series of monthly Friday artists talks (7 p.m.) followed by Saturday workshops (1 p.m.) Admission is free on Friday, $30 on Saturday. Call or e-mail to register. Next up in the series: Ania Moussawell, a Miami-born artist, photographer and videographer whose portraits are explorations of memory, nostalgia and everyday happenings (June 1-2).
While on the subject of Girls Club, the artspace held its season finale for Chick Flicks last week and it highlighted five short videos by local artists. Among them were Legend, 2009 and Last Look, 2012 by Christina Pettersson, Helium Hum, 2011 by Cristina Molina), The Moon, 2012 by Rebecca K. Lewis and a.muse.ment 2011 by Rhonda Mitrani. The Sincerity Project, which will feature art by David "LEBO" Le Batard, Ed King, Jacklyn Laflamme, Antonio Guerrero, Timothy Leistner, Ruben Ubiera, Virginia Erdie, Evo Love and other artists, and interpretations of their art by by clients of several special needs organizations including Artists With Autism, Lucanus Developmental Center, The Ann Storck Center and other organizations.

2 Expressionists, an exhibition of paintings selected by Diane Camber, independent curator and director emerita of Bass Museum of Art, and featuring works by Horst Kohlem and Danilo Gonzalez, will close with a reception, 6-10 p.m. June 1.

The Miami Rail launch party will celebrate the first issue of Miami's new art publication described as "an editorially independent expansion of The Brooklyn Rail, which has provided acclaimed cultural and political criticism since 1998."
The party, which runs 8 p.m. to midnight June 1, will feature DJs, foot-long Subway subs (while they last), and of course a free copy of The Miami Rail.
