Second Saturday Art Walk Pics

Second Saturday Art Walk, and the concept of running from one art venue to another, has always reminded me of trick-or-treating for art ... Arriving earlier on the day of the event only adds to that perception. While some art venues are wide open earlier in the day, others have their doors of steel bars ajar to reveal a closed inner door with signs that prompt visitors to ring a bell.

It's kind of like when you see the porch light on when you're going door to door on Halloween and you just know they're home and that there's candy in there. Then you ring the doorbell, the door opens and you're in ... But then once in awhile, nobody answers and it turns out that the people who reside there just went out and left the light on by accident.

Anyway, enough of the nonsense. Above is my slide show from visiting The Hangar, Gallery Diet, UM's Wynwood Project Space, Unix, Robert Fontaine Gallery and a few other art venues in Wynwood this weekend. It was a good day, with a fine Panther coffee latte between stops.

To see the captions while watching the slide show, first click the arrow in the middle, then click in the lower right hand corner of the slide show to expand the pics and then click on "show info" at top right (to see the details that accompany each photo). Or simply view the Flickr set.
