Ribbons of Time at Studio 18

I went to the Ribbons of Time opening at Studio 18 on Friday night and brought back some pics of the paintings, sculpture, installations and funky fine art furniture made by Studio 18 artists including Beth Amato, Joy Staelens, Larry Joe Miller, Virginia Erdie and others.

For the unfamiliar, Studio 18 provides affordable studio space for emerging and mid-career artists. Prices range from $242 for a 116-square-foot studio to $409 for a 242-square-foot space (includes taxes). The 18-artist venue regularly presents shows.

Its most recent exhibition features several Studio 18 artists. When you visit Ribbons of Time, you can walk around and check out the studios of other artists as well. Ribbons of Time runs through May 25, with an artists' salon from 7-9 p.m. May 4, at Studio 18, 1101 Poinciana Drive in Pembroke Pines. Gallery hours are 8:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed from 1-1:30 p.m.) and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

To see the captions while watching the slide show, first click the arrow in the middle, then click in the lower right hand corner of the slide show to expand the pics and then click on "show info" at top right (to see the details that accompany each photo). Or simply view the Flickr set.
