Lucinda Linderman: Reclaiming Miami

I went to Wynwood this weekend to check out Reclaiming Miami, Lucinda Linderman's exhibition at Cafeina's Wynwood Exhibition Center. Her work, which consists of reclaimed dry cleaners bags, shrink wrap, bike tires, golf grips, caution tape and other things once bound for landfills, can make you look at garbage in a new way and maybe even prompt you to start transforming it into something more valuable.

Lucinda Linderman's "Polymer Blooms II"
Reclaiming Miami will run through April 29, and will include an artist reception from 7-9 p.m. April 12 and a performance by Lucinda Linderman at 9 p.m. April 27. At the opening, Linderman will be the one in the black dress made from a garbage bag. For her performance, she will be dressed as a swimmer in a costume made from trash.

I brought back some pics from the evening and put them (above) in a little slide show for you.  After clicking the arrow in the middle, click in the lower right hand corner of the slide show to expand the pics and then click on "show info" at top right to see the details that accompany each photo. Or simply view the Flickr set.
