Lake Worth Street Painting Festival

Lake Worth Street Painting Festival, an annual event where hundreds of artists create large scale chalk/pastel works on the streets of downtown Lake Worth, has become a tradition for me.  For some reason I never seem to hear about until just days before, which is a shame because I like having time to look forward to such things.

One of the works from Lake Worth Street Painting Festival held Feb. 25-26
As usual, it was a great day out with plenty of music, art and brunch at the Pelican on Lake Avenue. The artists at this festival are as interesting as the art. It takes a special kind of person to spend two consecutive days on the ground, with chalk from head to toe, being photographed by strangers every two minutes.

Yes, I was one of the photo-snapping passers by and as usual I got carried away ... so above is the resulting slide show. After clicking the arrow in middle, click in the lower right hand corner of the slide show to expand the pics and then click on "show info" at top right to see the captions that accompany each photo. Or simply view the Lake Worth Street Painting 2012 Flickr set.
