Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery seeks handmade ceramic bowls donated by local artists for its Empty Bowls for Haiti Project, an event where people will purchase the bowls for $25 ($80 for four) and get them filled with food and dessert samplings from participating Lake Worth restaurants on March 24. Boca Raton Museum of Art is seeking artist proposals for Big Art: Miniature Golf, an interactive exhibition that will feature a 5,000-square-foot miniature golf course in the museum's main gallery. Each artists, or creative team, will design individual holes on the course. More than one entry may be submitted but each requires a separate registration. Proposals will be judged by "creativity, playability, safety, durability and feasibility of implementation." Knight Arts Challenge Miami's most recent application period begins Feb. 21. According to Knight's blog there are three rules: The idea must be about the arts. The project must happen in South Florida, or benefit the area. The grantee must find matching funding. Details are on the Knight Arts blog.
The Fountainhead Studios in Miami has 17,000 square feet of studios, which it rents to Miami artists, starting at $300 a month. The studios, run by local collectors Dan and Kathryn Mikesell, are also open, as space allows, to out-of-town artists preparing for exhibitions.
