DBA 2012 Art Exhibition

I went to Gallery 6 at Broward County Main Library on Wednesday night for the opening reception of the fourth annual DBA 2012 Art Exhibition (Doing Business As ... Artist Entrepreneurs). The annual exhibition showcases graduates of Broward County's Artist as Entrepreneur Institute, which offers a four-day program designed to teach people how to make money as an artist.

Artists Frank Crowley and JoAnn Nava curated this year's show which features work by Amelia Monroe, Bonnie Shapiro, Debra Kaszovitz, Elle Schorr, Frank Crowley, Henning Haupt, JoAnn Nava, Louis Davis, Michael D. Harris and Nolan Haan.

The show runs through Feb. 27 in Gallery 6 of Broward County Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Ave. Fort Lauderdale. A closing forum featuring storyteller Mij Byram and presentations by Katharine DeShaw and Amanda Cruz, executive director and program director of United States Artists, will be held 5-7:30 p.m. Feb. 22. For more details on the DBA program, visit Artistsdoingbusinessas.com or e-mail DBA2012art@gmail.com.

Gallery 6's regular hours are 6-10 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Friday and noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Above are my pics from the show. Be sure to click in the lower right hand corner of the slide show to expand the pics and then click on show info at top right to see the captions that accompany the pics.
